The kids were just too exited last night and it took a long
time to fall asleep. As a result, we slept in. It was after 9:00 when we all
got out of bed. We got ready as fast as possible (for us) and headed out to the
park. It took longer to get there then we expected. Google maps says it’s about
30 minutes away, but it was almost 50! We decided to pay the extra $5 for preferred parking and we were glad we paid cause the parking was right at the
door. I had to go to guest services to ask if we could upgrade our 2 day passes
to a season pass if we wanted to at the end of the day, and to ask if they had
any special thing they did anywhere in the park for birthdays (they
don’t). Had to stand in line for that. Then I had to stand in line for tickets. I bought the tickets, then realized they had only given me 1 day ticket. Apparently, they don’t sell 2 day tickets anymore. So I upgraded to season passes on the spot for $120 extra. Then we had to go stand in another line to get our season passes taken care of. By this time, it was late enough that we thought it would make sense to eat because we had to eat in the truck, it was late and we were alrady there. After lunch, I stood in line at guest services to upgrade my parking to a season pass. By the time we got into the park it was after 3:00.
We headed for the monsters movie so no one would puke on the rides. After
the movie, Alex and Katrina headed for the big rides, and the rest of us stayed
in the kids village. I took Sammy on a coaster, then Guylaine took them all on
a coaster. That was the first big coaster for William and Xavier.
The only problem is that the wait time on these rides is 30 – 45 minutes. The kids were thirsty so we got a drink. $4 each. Alex and Katrina caught up to us just when we were about to go into the haunted mansion. It was about 7:00, and we decided that it would be our last ride. Sammy wanted McDonald’s and a campfire to celebrate his birthday. But after waiting almost half an hour, the ride broke down so we decided to head for home. Everyone had to pee and we were deep in the park. By the time we got to the truck, packed up the wagon and the cameras, and tried to look up the nearest McDonalds on the GPS it was 8:00. Then almost an hour to get home. By the time we ate and gave Sam his cake, it was raining a bit and it was just too late for a fire. No trouble putting anyone to bed tonight.
